Jefferson Hills Library is proud to announce that they have added Freegal to their many services.

What is Freegal?

Freegal is a free music service from your library. All you need is your library card number and some libraries utilize a PIN. Freegal offers access to about 7 million songs, including Sony Music’s catalog of legendary artists. In total the collection is comprised of music from over 28,000 labels with music that originates in over 80 countries. There is no software to download, and there are no digital rights management (DRM) restrictions. Access to Freegal is limited to patrons of subscribing libraries.

CPR FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS

Will you help us save the life of your loved one? Do you know what to do in case of an emergency with a choking child? Could you start CPR until the EMS arrive?

6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Taught by Jefferson Hills Area Ambulance Service EMT’s & Paramedics

This course is intended for the general public to learn the basic steps necessary to perform Hands-Only CPR!

CPR Anytime is an “all-in-one “class that teaches the following basic skills in about 2 hours: · Adult Hands-Only CPR · Child CPR (including delivery of breaths) · Adult and child choking relief · General AED awareness. Includes Hands on practice.

There is no prerequisite or written test. Please note, completion of the CPR Anytime course does not result in receipt of an AHA course completion card. This is a non-credentialed course for the general public.

The Fall Festival, sponsored by the West Jefferson Hills Historical Society and The Friends of the Jefferson Hills Library, will be held on October 12 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm. at the Jefferson Hills Borough Building. 

The event will include crafts for the children, a magician act, games, craft vendors, and refreshments.  The Festival benefits the Jefferson Hills Library.

The Borough of Jefferson Hills will break ground for its new Public Works Complex on Monday, September 9, at 6:00 p.m. The new complex will be located on Borough property, 925 Old Clairton Road.

On hand will be Borough Council, the architect, contractors and project manager. This brief ceremony and remarks will take place prior to the September Council Meeting at 7:00 p.m.

Just a reminder of this evening's event! The West Jefferson Hills Historical Society's August 28th meeting features Tim Tokosh from Elizabeth Township and a member of the Antique Bottle Collectors Club of Pittsburgh. Tim calls himself an amateur archeologist and privy digger. Audience is encouraged to bring any bottles or crocks to share with the group. Learn some history and share a laugh. The Society meets in the community room of the Jefferson Hills Borough Building, across the hall from the library. Hope to see you there!
